Panther Pride Marching Band


The Panther Pride Marching Band is a premiere outdoor performing ensemble and is the primary band offered during the fall semester. The band is co-curricular and meets after school on Tues. and Thurs. as well as during the normal school day. 


The band presents a field production every year at all home football games in the Panther stadium. In addition, the band attends four competitions each season. The Panther Pride Marching Band also hosts the Panther Band Classic - an annual band competition that hosts more than 10 bands competing for musical excellence.


Panther Jazz Collective


The Panther Jazz Collective the high school jazz ensemble in Elizabeth City. The band explores a variety of styles including funk, rock, modern jazz, and the great jazz standards. The band performs at annual band concerts. 


The band has also performed for several community organizations including Winslow's Memorial Nursing Home and the Benjamin House. The band has also performed at the North Carolina Potato Festival, the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival at UNC Chapel Hill, the annual jazz festival at Elon University, and on several local elementary school Christmas tours. 



Symphonic Band


The PCHS Symphonic band is the primary performing ensemble during the spring semester. The band trains musicians and exposes students to a variety of rigorous classical concert band literature. 


The Symphonic Band gives two concerts during the spring semester. The first is our MPA preview concert for parents that coincides with concert band festival (MPA) in March. In May, the Symphonic Band presents their annual Spring Concert. 


Chamber Ensembles


At PCHS, student have the opportunity to further their musical skills by participating in Chamber Ensembles.  Chamber Ensembles allow students to grow their skills as individual musicians and as ensemble musicians simultaneously. 

Our Chamber Ensembles, in addition to some of Mr. Stanley's other classes (guitar and ukulele) put on a concert each semester.
